PlayStation is seeking a senior director to lead its PC “planning and strategy”.
According to ajob listingsent to VGC, the role, which is based in San Mateo California is looking for candidates that will be responsible for “the strategy and commercial activity within Global Channel sales and will deliver a single, optimizedPCSales growth and commercial plan”.
The job listing is looking for candidates who can “Lead PC growth and commercial strategy” as well as “Develop and implement global PC store strategy and process”
This comes asSonycontinues to expand into the PC space, releasing older first-party titles onSteamsuch as God of War. Later this year it will also releaseUncharted: Legacy of Thieves collection on PC.
Last year the company formedPlayStationPC, a new publishing label that handles PlayStation’s PC output.
Speaking toGame Informerearlier this year, God of War directorCory Barlogclaimed that developers fought for Sony’s biggest games to release on PC.
Sony’s first modern PC ports wereHorizon Zero Dawn in August 2020andDays Gone in May 2021.
Last year SIE’s president confirmedPlayStation would bring “a whole slate” of games to PC.
Speaking toGQ in 2021SIE bossJim Ryansaid that the opportunity to bring PlayStation’s IPs to a wider audience, as well as an easier port process, meant that making more games for PC was now “a fairly straightforward decision” for the company.
