PlayStation is set to hold a Japanese live stream event on Sunday, March 21, it’s announced.
PlayStationPresents Play! Play! Play! Will feature around an hour of content focused on Japanese-developed titlesFinal Fantasy 7 RemakeIntegrade andResident Evil Village, including interviews withCapcomdirector Morimasu Sato andSquare EnixproducerYoshinori Kitase.
To encourage Japanese consumers to tune in,Sonysays it will give away 2,000 yen ($18) to 100 participants who complete a special Stamp Rally challenge.
Resident Evil Village andFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Intergradeare two of the most high profilePlayStation 5titles set to release in the first half of the year.
Set for release on June 10, PS5’sFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Intergradewill feature improved visuals, significantly faster loading times, a Photo Mode, haptic feedback and a new episode featuring character Yuffie.
PS4owners will be able to upgrade to the PS5 game for free and transfer saves from the last-gen version, though this month’s free PS Plus versionisn’t applicable.

Capcom released a PS5 exclusiveResident Evil Village demoin January. It sees players take on the role of a character called the Maiden as she attempts to escape from Dimitrescu Castle. A second demo will be released for all platforms this spring.
PlayStation has recently moved to deny claims that it’s shifting its focus away from the company’s homeland of Japan, allegations which were intensified by the recentwinding down of its Japan Studio, as exclusively revealed by VGC.
Last month, Famitsu published an interview with SIE bossJim Ryanin which he saidhe considered all of SIE’s studios to be importantand that he continued to support Japanese game development for PS5.
“We’re really happy and proud of the PS Studios titles that have been released by Worldwide Studios”, Ryan said. “Some of them have already been announced, and others are in the works.
“SIE also has strong relationships with licensees in Japan, so we will continue to strengthen our ties with them and develop titles made in Japan for PlayStation fans around the world.”
