Electronic Arts has filed a trademark for Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville in Europe.

As spotted byGematsu, thetrademarkwas filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office on August 9.

While it’s yet to be officially announced, Battle for Neighborville is expected to be the next shooter entry in the Plants vs. Zombies series.

According to aResetErapost, a listing for the game briefly appeared onEA’s own website in July.

An accompanying description read: “Kick some grass in Plant vs. Zombies Battle for Neighborville, the wackiest shooter yet! Unearth 20 fully customizable character classes, one social region, three free-roam regions, nine PvP modes, including 4v4 Battle Arena, and more!”

Reporting its quarterly earnings in May, EA said it planned to release a new Plants vs. Zombies “HD shooter title” during the current business year ending in March 2020.

EA held a console alpha testfor the upcoming Plants vs. Zombies shooter in August. It said the title, which is codenamed Picnic, is in development at the team behind Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, which released for consoles andPCin 2014 and received a sequel in 2016.
