The Epic Games Store’s latest free game is Payday 2.
Starbreeze’s four-play co-op shooter is nowfree to claimuntil June 15, when it will be replaced by Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition and Guacamelee! 2.
The company claimed in January that Payday 2 had sold over 40 million copies since its 2013 release and boasted the largest community onSteamwith over eight million players.

Payday 2 replaces Midnight Ghost Hunt, which waspreviously free to claim from the Epic Games Store.
Payday 3 will be published by Plaion’sPrime Matterlabel this year forPC,XboxandPlayStationconsoles.

Earlier this week, a highly reliable leaker claimed the game isplanned for release on September 21.
Taking place in contemporary New York, the co-op heist shooter will see the original gang – Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf and Chains – coming out of retirement in a world that has further transitioned into the digital age.

Starbreeze has said software giants, cryptocurrencies, mass surveillance and the Dark Web will play a role in the game, and they will be reflected in updated gadgetry that the gang uses.
The Epic Games Store gave away 99 free titles last year (up from 89 in 2021). These games had a combined worth of $2,240 and users claimed over 700 million free titles (down from 765 million in 2021), according toEpic.

The Epic Games Store recentlylaunched its ‘Mega Sale 2023’ promotion. Featuring discounts of up to 75%, it will run until June 15 at 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm BST.
