Netflix has released a new Sonic Prime trailer. Viewable below, it shows Sonic travelling through the multiverse after a fight with Eggman takes an unexpected turn. “Join Sonic and friends as they fight to fix the Shatterverse in Sonic Prime!” reads the official blurb accompanying the trailer. Netflix announced Sonic Prime last Februarywhen it said the series would consist of 24 episodes. Set for release on December 15, it’s billed as “a high-octane adventure where the fate of a strange new multiverse” rests in Sonic’s hands, as well as “a journey of self-discovery and redemption”....

Sony has announced its intention to shift away from offering PS4 games as part of its monthly PlayStation Plus offerings. Starting in 2026, offering “PS4games will no longer be a key benefit” of the service, withSonyinstead turning its focus to providingPS5titles. “As many of our players are currently playing on PS5 and have shifted toward redeeming and accessing PS5 titles from the Monthly Games and Game Catalog benefit,PlayStationPlus is also evolving with this trend and will focus on offering PS5 titles through the Monthly Games and Game Catalog benefit starting January 2026,”saidAdam Michel, global content director for PlayStation subscription services....

Sony has said it believes PlayStation VR2 has a “good chance” of outselling its predecessor. The originalPlayStationVR launched forPS4in October 2016 and had sold five million units by the end of 2019, according toSony. PlayStation 5 will expand the number of accessibility options available to players with disabilities, Sony Interactive Entertainment has said. The firm’s current-gen consolePS4 already has many accessibility settings, including text to speech, the ability to invert colours, custom button assignments and more. In a newblog post,SonysaidPS5would also offer a voice dictation feature to quickly input text without the use of a virtual keyboard, along with button assignments, closed captions and options to hear on-screen text, or have text messages spoken out loud to other party members....

Stray, a game where players play as a cat in a neon-tinged city, will come to PC and PS5 in July, and will be included with PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium on day one, it’s been confirmed. Embracer Group has announced that it has sold Borderlands developer Gearbox Entertainment to Take-Two Interactive. The sale, which amounts to $460M, will see Gearbox become wholly owned byTake-Two, which already had an ongoing relationship with the developer through theBorderlandsfranchise. ”As a significant long-termEmbracer Groupshareholder, I believe in the strategy for the Embracer Group going forward and am completely convinced that this transaction is the best possible scenario and an obvious net positive arrangement for Embracer Group, for Take-Two and, of course, for Gearbox Entertainment,” saidRandy Pitchford, founder and CEO of Gearbox Entertainment....

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has said he doesn’t think it makes economic sense for the company’s games to be available on subscription services on the day of their release. Striking Distance Studios has added a New Game Plus mode to The Callisto Protocol. Previously expected to arrive in early February, the New Game Plus mode has been made available ahead of schedule as part of the title’s version3.01 update. The Super Mario Bros. Movie is now available to buy or rent digitally in the UK, Universal Pictures has announced. Amazonand iTunes store listings reveal that the film is available to purchase for £19.99. The movie wasreleased digitally on May 16 in the United States, where it costs $29.99 to buy.
