UK-based publisher Curve Games has been acquired by Nazara Technologies. The gaming-focused tech company, which is headquartered in Mumbai, India, has acquired Curve for INR 248 Cr ($29 million / £21.6 million). It’s the second notable UK game developer acquired by the company, following the acquisition of Fusebox Games last year for a similar price. Nazara also owns early learning app Kiddopia and the sports and eSports media organisation Sportskeeda....

Id Software’s studio head, Tim Willits has announced he will leave the studio this month, after 24-years at the company. “After 24 years, I’ve decided to leaveid SoftwareafterQuakeCon,” he wrote onTwitter. “I’ve been extremely lucky to work with the best people in the industry on truly amazing games. QuakeCon has been an unbelievable part of my journey and I look forward to seeing everyone at the Gaylord Texan.” The designer added that he feels all of Id’s in-development titles are “in very good hands” and insisted that his departure will not affect any planned releases....

Activision has released new story videos for Call of Duty: Vanguard. They set the scene for the game by introducing viewers to some of the main characters and the threat they’re tackling in the upcoming World War 2 shooter. “Players will witness the origins of Special Forces as they change the face of history, forming Task Force One in a sprawling World War II narrative campaign spanning the Eastern and Western fronts of Europe, the Pacific, and North Africa,” according toActivision....

CD Projekt Red has released a new 15-minute gameplay video of Cyberpunk 2077. The video shows an edited version of the gameplay demo that was shown behind-closed-doors at bothE3 2019andGamescom 2019. Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries has hosted a lengthy Q&A session that reveals wealth of new information on the game’s Zeta Halo environment, including the way the day/night cycle affects the enemies players will encounter. One question duringthe 45-minute videoasks whether the time of day affects how enemies will respond to the player’s presence, or if it will change the numbers or types of enemies they’ll encounter. “When you’re moving through the world in the darker periods, you’re gonna end up seeing more patrols of Phantoms moving through the space with searchlights and that kind of thing, which is pretty cool and adds kind of an eerie element to what’s going on around you,” answered lead world designer John Mulkey....
