Nintendo has released a free demo of Kirby and the Forgotten Land. The demo, which is available on theSwitcheShop now, includes three levels from the game’s first world. Players will be able to try out the new Mouthful Mode, which lets Kirby inhale large real-world objects and use their properties to perform unique moves. For example, Kirby can inhale a car and use it to drive around. The demo will also let players take on the game’s first boss, and will also give them a Present Code upon completion....

Ubisoft has released a new story trailer for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Set after the events of the first Avatar film in a never-before-seen continent of Pandora, the game sees players teaming up with different Na’vi clans to protect their homeland from the RDA corporation. “You’ll play as a child of two worlds, born Na’vi but raised by the RDA,” according toUbisoft. “Fifteen years after your abduction, you are free, and must reconnect with your lost heritage....

Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick has said he’s expecting an “accelerated” appeals process after the company’s merger with Microsoft was blocked by the UK competition regulator. On Wednesday, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said it waspreventing the $69 billion dealdue to concerns about its impact on the future of the cloud gaming market. MicrosoftandActivisionquickly confirmed their intention to appeal the CMA’s decision, which Kotick slammed as “irrational” and not based in fact during an interview withCNBC....

Atari and Bandai Namco have announced a series of products to celebrate Pac-Man’s 45th anniversary, including a yellow Atari console. TheAtariX Namco collection is a collaboration between Atari and Bandai Namco. The main item is the Atari 2600+ Pac-Man edition, a rerelease of the iconic console in bright yellow. It is available for pre-order now for $169.99. The console bundle also includes Pac-Man: Double Feature, which includes Pac-Man 7800, a brand new, arcade-style version of the original game, and Pac-Man 2600, the first home console release of the game....

An award-winning documentary shot entirely within Grand Theft Auto Online is set to get a US theatrical run next year. Grand Theft Hamlet was shot during the COVID-19 lockdown and tells the story of two unemployed actors who decided to try staging a performance of Hamlet within GTA Online. The developers behind Diablo II’s upcoming remake have said consumers should “do what they feel is right,” when considering whether to buy the game next week. Destiny maker Bungie and toy manufacturer Nerf are investigating claims that the design for their recently revealed Ace of Spades Nerf gun directly copied elements from a fan design in 2015. X user @Tofu_Rabbit claimed on Wednesday that the new toy gun copies design elements, as well as brush stroke and smudge effects from their original design. They also posted a side-by-side image showing what they claim are very similar, and in some cases identical design elements....

CD Projekt has revealed that an upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 expansion will include a new storyline. Vice president and chief financial officerPiotr Nielubowiczsaid on Thursday: “For everyone who has already walked the streets of Night City – we’re working on further DLCs as well as on a major expansion featuring a new storyline.” He also claimed thatCyberpunk 2077 has now sold over 18 million copies. “We believe in the long-term potential of our newest release; thus, one of our priorities for 2021 was to improve Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay,” he said....

Danish entertainment company Nordisk has acquired a 30.7% stake in The Dark Pictures and Until Dawn studio Supermassive Games. Copenhagen, Denmark-based Nordisk Games now holds investments in multiple European games companies including full ownership of Just Cause and Mad Max developerAvalanche Studios, and part-ownership of Call of the Sea publisher Raw Fury andMetroid: Samus Returns studio MercurySteam. Supermassive Gameswill be the ninth addition to the portfolio and is Nordisk Games’ first investment in the UK....

Kojima Productions has announced a 12-city World Tour to celebrate the release of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. TheDeath StrandingWorld Strand Tour 2 will kick off in Los Angeles on 8 June, duringSummer Game Fest, and will travel across the world before ending in Lucca in Italy in November.
