New NES and SNES games for Nintendo Switch Online will be released “irregularly” going forward, according to Nintendo. Prior to this week’s launch of a SNES library of games for the subscription service, new NES titles were added on a monthly basis. However, multiple posts onNintendoof Japan’swebsiteindicate SNES titles will be added “irregularly” going forward. NES titles will also be added “irregularly instead of every month,” Nintendo says. VGC has contacted Nintendo UK to ask if this is the case in all regions and to hopefully get an indication of how frequently new NES and SNES games will be released forNintendo SwitchOnline....

Nintendo and Square Enix have released a new Bravely Default 2 trailer and confirmed that the Switch exclusive will release on July 03, 2025. TheNintendo SwitchRPG was firstannounced in December 2019and planned for release in 2020. A demo was released on the eShop in March of this year. The game received an M (Mature)ratingfrom the Australian Classification Board on September 22. Bravely Default 2producerTomoya Asano(Octopath Traveler) and composer Revo (Sound Horizon/Linked Horizon) held the same roles on 2012’s original Bravely Default forNintendo 3DS....

Nintendo has made the decision to delay its upcoming Advance Wars 1 & 2 remakes. The news comes as a result of the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, which has seen much of the country devastated by heavy weaponry. “In light of recent world events, we have made the decision to delayAdvance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, which was originally scheduled to release onNintendo Switchon April 8th,”Nintendosaid in a tweet....

Nintendo has released a new issue of its Nintendo Official Magazine, celebrating the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. The magazine, which isavailable digitally now,and will be available physically next month in select retailers, includes advertising information for theNintendo Switch 2and its currently announced lineup of games. New details on the third-party Piranha Plant camera for Nintendo Switch 2 have emerged, including one major weakness. The camera,which is created by peripheral manufacturer Horiwith official licensing fromNintendo, acts as an alternative to the officialNintendo Switch 2Camera. It’s also significantly cheaper than the standard officialSwitch2 Camera, and is currently available on theUK My Nintendo Storeat a price of £33.99 (compared to £49.99for the standard camera). However, there’s a reason for this: while the official Switch 2 Camera has a capture resolution of 1080p, the Piranha Plant Camera can only capture at 480p....

Nintendo has issued a tepid denial to reports that it’s planning to release an upgraded Nintendo Switch model this year. During a private Q&A following its financial results meeting on Monday, the platform holder reportedly said in terms of hardware, it had “no new model plan beyond” the upcomingSuper MarioandMonster Hunter editionconsoles set for release in February and March, according to Japan-based analystDavid Gibson. According to another person present during the Q&A, Bloomberg reporterTakashi Mochizuki,Nintendogave a far less authoritative answer when pushed on its new hardware plans....

Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO and president Jim Ryan is set to step down from his position, the company has confirmed. “Sony Interactive Entertainment(SIE) today announced that SIE President and CEOJim Ryanhas made the decision to retire in March 2024 after almost thirty years with thePlayStationbusiness,” Sony said in a statement on Wednesday. “To support Mr. Ryan in his transition, Sony Group Corporation President, COO and CFO Hiroki Totoki will assume the role of Chairman of SIE effective October 2023....

PlayStation has published over five minutes of new Demon’s Souls gameplay. Concord, PlayStation’s sci-fi multiplayer FPS, has been given a release date. The game will be released onPS5andPCon August 23, with a beta taking place in July. A separate CGI trailer was also shown, introducing players to some of the characters they will control and encounter in the game. Concordis a 5v5 team-based shooter, where players compete as ‘freegunners’ and have to take on opposing teams. The game will add new cinematic vignettes every week, so players can learn more about its characters....
