Troy Baker will reportedly appear in Naughty Dog’s next game. The prolific voice actor, who has starred as Joel in The Last of Us series and Sam Drake in theUnchartedfranchise, is reuniting withNaughty Dogfor the new title from studio head and creative directorNeil Druckmann. Ubisoft has denied claims it’s planning to cancel Roller Champions. Over the weekend Giant Bomb journalist Jeff Grubb said he’d heard from a source thatRoller Champions is going be cancelled after Season 3. But in a statement released on Monday,Ubisoftdenied it was planning to axe the free-to-play game,which was only released in May. “Hello Champions! Let’s clear it out of the way first, Roller Champions isn’t getting cancelled, and Ubisoft fully supports it,” itsaid....

Plans for a live-action series based on Ubisoft franchise Driver have been shelved, the company has confirmed. However, the company has claimed it’s still planning projects related to the series, despite no major game release in over a decade. Ubisoftannouncedback in 2021that it had partnered with upstart streaming service Binge for the series. However, the company toldGame Fileon Friday that it’s now not moving ahead with the company. The discovery was made after Ubisoft disclosed that one of its movie/video-related subsidiaries, Hotrod Tanner LLC – named after the protagonist for the Driver series – was dissolved in January....

The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has expressed its concern that Microsoft’s proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard could “significantly weaken” PlayStation. In a 35-point summary explainingits decision to potentially start a second phase of inquiryif its concerns aren’t addressed, the CMA cited numerous potential issues, most notably the impact the deal could have onSony‘s ability to compete. According to the regulator, this impact could be most felt during the launch of the nextPlayStationconsole, when users could opt to purchase a newXboxinstead, should franchises become exclusive....

UK technology retailer Box is preparing to sell a new allocation of Xbox Series X consoles this week. The company will select pre-registered customers from a ballot on Friday, with those chosen offered the chance to purchaseMicrosoft’s console. To be clear, entrants aren’t guaranteed the chance to buy an Xbox Series X console. Instead, stock will be allocated to random entrants, who will be contacted to make payment if chosen....

Microsoft has announced a multi-year agreement with AMD to create chips for its future devices, which it says will not be tied “to a single store or device”. The free demos forXbox’s Summer Game Fest demo eventhave started to appear on the Xbox digital store. Yakuza’s executive director Toshihiro Nagoshi has reportedly said he views Nintendo Switch predominantly as a console for the kids and teens audience.
