Nintendo is planning to release SNES-style controllers for Nintendo Switch, according to filings lodged with the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Nintendo has released a new survey designed to identify player preferences around different Switch 2 game purchasing options. The survey asks whether players prefer buying games physically or digitally, and seeks feedback onSwitch 2’s controversial game-key cards, which have proved unpopular with some consumers. The only difference between a game-key card title and a digital download is that the former can be resold and will work on other Switch 2 systems, without the need forVirtual Game Card lending....

Nintendo has updated its list of Nintendo Switch games that are compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2, saying the vast majority of games tested so far have “no issues”. WhileNintendohas maintained since the announcement of theNintendo Switch 2that most Switch games would work on the new system without issue, the platform holder has been regularly updating its list of titles that it has tested with the new system. In thelatest update to the list, Nintendo has now identified 118 games that have “start-up issues” on Switch 2, 50 games that “start up on Nintendo Switch 2 but include some in-game compatibility issues”, and 54 games that has issues planned to be resolved by launch or shortly afterwards....

UK retailer Currys has announced its Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order plans. The tech giant is now taking pre-orders for the system in-store only. Currys has confirmed to VGC that customers will be expected to pay the full amount for the system up front. Gaming peripheral maker PDP has announced a new line of controllers that have figurines encased inside them. The REALMz controllers will be released forSwitchandXbox, and contain transparent shells which make it possible to see the “unique multi-layer design” inside the controller.
