A new video game based on Friday the 13th is in the works, it’s been revealed. During a San Diego Comic-Con panel based on all things Friday the 13th, it was announced that a “sequel” game is being made. The reveal was made by Robert Barsamian, executive vice president at Horror Inc, the company which currently handles the Friday the 13th franchise IP under a label called Jason Universe....
Infinity Ward has released a new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 update. While it didn’t release official patch notes for the update, the studiosaidit “fixed various map exploits and bugs across the game” and “fixed an issue that prevented players from editing their Profile Showcase”. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion, a modern remaster of the PSP title, has been announced. Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick has reportedly hinted again that a new Guitar Hero game may be in the works. Activision has cut its ties with the voice actor of Call of Duty character Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley, following a number of sexist remarks. Jeff Leach voiced Ghost in 2019’sCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, butActivisionhas stated that he is no longer involved with the series after a series of misogynist comments recently resurfaced online. SAG-AFTRA, the labour union for American actors, has today called a strike against Riot Games’ League of Legends. Itsaidit was doing so because Formosa Interactive, a production company involved in making the game, had “tried to subvert”the video game strike which began in Julyafter the union failed to negotiate protections around the use of AI for its members. SAG-AFTRA accused Formosa, which has also worked on Call of Duty games and other high-profile titles likeDeath StrandingandGod of War, of attempting to “cancel” one of its struck games....
As players wait for aseemingly inevitable GoldenEye HD announcement, a PC game revealed last night may offer an alternative. The new trailer for Agent 64: Spies Never Die was shown as part of thePC GamingShow on Sunday, showing what appears to be an attempt at an accurate GoldenEye sequel, minus the Bond licence. The trailer contains music that sounds very similar to the James Bond theme, includes a variety of guns that resemble those from GoldenEye, and has a similar polygonal art style toRare‘s 1997 title....
Remedy has announced plans to release a significant Alan Wake 2 update on Tuesday. The game’s free Anniversary Update will launch on October 22, alongside the physical version of the game and its second expansion, The Lake House. Remedysaidthe update features changes and improvements that have frequently been requested by the community. They include the ability to invert the X (horizontal) axis on mouse and controller, and not just the Y (vertical) axis....
The latest patch for Alan Wake 2 has been released. The patch, whichRemedycalls the ’08 Update’, features “over 200+ individual improvements and fixes to the game”. In particular, Remedy points out one fix, which corrects “an issue that caused the Ocranview Hotel Lobby Echo not to align correctly”. “This one was really annoying – we apologise,” it wrote.
