Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been pulled from sale on the PlayStation Store in Russia, casting doubt over the game’s release in the country. The title has yet to be made available for pre-order at Russian retailers, although it has been available to pre-purchase via digital storefronts in the run-up to its October release. Call of Duty Vanguard’s cross-play beta has been extended until Wednesday. The multiplayer test kicked off last Thursdayfor allPlayStationusers as well asXboxandPCplayers who had pre-ordered the upcoming shooter. It was then opened up to all players on all platforms until at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST / 7pm CEST today, but has now been extended by 48 hours. Call of Duty Warzone is adding another skin similar to the controversial ‘Roze’ cosmetic as part of its Season 4 Reloaded update this week. On July 15, Call of Duty’s traditional mid-season update will arrive with numerous updates, including the Special Ops: Pro Pack which adds a new all-black skin for the Portnova operator. The cosmetic is reminiscent of the controversial ‘Roze’ skin, which has been criticised since its addition to the battle royale game as part ofModern WarfareSeason 5’s paid-for battle pass last year....

Capcom has removed the controversial Denuvo anti-tamper technology from the Steam version of Resident Evil Village. As reported byDark Side of Gaming, a new update for the game released today removes the DRM. This report is verified bySteamDB’s change tracker, whichadded an entry earlier todaywhich reads: “Removed 3rd-Party DRM – Denuvo Anti-tamper, 5 differentPCwithin a day machine activation limit.” The move will be welcomed by players who had been avoiding the Steam version due to reports that Denuvo affected the game’s performance....

Chucky and Tiffany are the next iconic movie slashers set to make an appearance in Dead by Daylight. As reported byIGN, the Child’s Play killer and his bride will be added to the game on November 28. While Chucky will be the main killer added to the game, players will be able to customise him with a ‘Good Gal’ outfit, which will essentially change him to Tiffany. Both Chucky and the Tiffany skin will be voiced by their original voice actors, Brad Dourif and Jennifer Tilly respectively....

A new game based on the classic Nickelodeon TV series Rugrats is coming to NES, PC and modern consoles. Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland is being developed by Wallride Games, which previously released beat ’em upJay & Silent Bob: Mall Brawl(also on both NES and modern systems). According to the game’s description, it will feature “puzzle platforming combining beloved gameplay from the NES era with moden game design”. It will also feature both single-player and 2-player co-op modes, and will include “cameos of beloved characters from the TV show”....

Sega and The Creative Assembly have announced plans to reveal “the next era” of Total War later this year, as part of the franchise’s 25thanniversary plans. The companies’ celebrations will kick off in August with behind-the-scenes content including retrospective interviews, developer livestreams, multiplayer tournaments, and discounts across series, they said. Then, in early December, TheCreative Assemblywill hold an Anniversary Showcase video presentation, “unveiling what’s next for the franchise”. The showcase will feature “new game and content announcements, alongside commentary from the development teams shaping the future of Total War”....

Cyberpunk 2077 publisher and developer CD Projekt used AI to recreate the voice of a deceased actor. As reported byBloomberg,CD Projektused the technology to add new voice lines for Miłogost Reczek, a popular Polish voice actor. Reczek performed the Polish-language voice for the character Viktor Vektor inCyberpunk 2077, but then passed away in 2021. As such, CD Projekt was left trying to figure out how to use the character in the game’sPhantom Liberty expansion....

Doom Eternal will join Xbox Game Pass for PC on December 3. TheId Softwareshooter previouslyjoined Xbox Game Pass for console in October. Today’s Game PassPCannouncement coincides with the release of aDoom Eternaltitle update which includes a new master level. Remixing a Doom Eternal campaign stage with new environmental hazards and conditions, the Super Gore Nest master level is a new combat experience designed to offer players a challenge beyond anything encountered in the base game....

A class action lawsuit has been brought against Electronic Arts in California, claiming that the publisher’s Ultimate Team modes breach the state’s gambling laws. EA’s Ultimate Team packs used in the FIFA and Madden games constitute gambling in violation of California law, plaintiff Kevin Ramirez alleges in court documents seen by VGC. The plaintiff is demanding a jury trial and damages of $5 million. The case was brought by Ramirez on behalf of a proposed class of more than 100 others, on August 13 in the Northern District of California....

The second open beta for upcoming free-to-play football game UFL is coming this weekend. The beta will take place between August 2 and August 4 and will be available onPS5andXbox Series X/S, with players able to pre-download it starting today. The game’s first open beta took place in June and saw more than 1.3 million players taking part, according to developer Strikerz Inc. In response to player feedback from the first beta, the second open beta will add new features, including “brand new meta mechanics, gameplay and animation features to enhance user experience, including a revamped club reputation system, perk system and card skin system”....

Electronic Arts has confirmed that F1 24 will be released on June 19, 2025. The next entry inCodemasters’ racing series will be released forPS5,Xbox Series X/S,PS4,Xbox One, andPC, viaEAApp,Epic Games Store, andSteam. F1 23 players who pre-order F1 24 Champions Edition by April 24 will be able to participate in Time Trial challenges using the new Alpine, Haas, McLaren, and Williams 2024 team cars prior to this weekend’s opening race of the season....

EA has confirmed that the latest Team of the Week (TOTW) squad in EA Sports FC 25 will be the last for this season’s game. TOTW 30 features a new selection of 23 players, who have been given improved stats (and sometimes a different position) compared to their regular versions. Because it’s the last TOTW to be released inEA Sports FC 25, every player is rated either 88 or 89....
