The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask will be added to Switch Online’s Nintendo 64 library next week, Nintendo has announced. Majora’s Mask will be the twelfthNintendo 64game available on Switch Online in the west, following on from Banjo Kazooie’s addition in January and Paper Mario in December 2021. In the game, Link has three days to save the world before the moon comes crashing down, destroying the world of Termina and everyone inhabiting it....

Capcom veteran Hideaki Itsuno has returned to development, leading a new studio owned by Tencent subsidiary LightSpeed Studios. Itusno will lead LightspeedJapan Studio, which will operate across two offices in Tokyo and Osaka, it announced on Tuesday. Itsuno’s career atCapcomspanned over three decades. In that time he served as the director of classic games such as Power Stone, Devil May Cry 3, 4 and 5, Dragon’s Dogma 1 and 2, as well as producing several other Capcom projects....

Microsoft has added touch controls to 10 more Xbox Game Pass titles for Android. As of mid-September,XboxGame Pass Ultimate members in 22 countriescan play over 100 games on Android devicesvia the cloud using a compatible controller. Microsoftsays touch controls “have been one of the top-requested features for cloud gaming” and last month it introduced them forMinecraft Dungeons. The Pokémon Company has revealed the location of the 2024 Pokémon World Championships. Next year’s event will take place from Honolulu Hawaii. The event, which will see the World Championship tournament finals forPokémonVGC, Pokémon TCG, Pokémon GO, and Pokémon Unite, returns to the United States after two years. The 2022 event took place in London, and this year’s event hailed from Yokohama Japan. 2022’s event was the first Pokémon World Championships to take place outside of the US....

It’s a bit odd to be looking forward to a game even though we probably already know how it’s going to end. If you’re not down with your Doom lore, the 2016 reboot opened in Mars with protagonist the Slayer breaking free from a sarcophagus, shortly before laying waste to a bunch of demons. Doom 64, the game that comes canonically before Doom 2016, ends with the Marine (as he was then) deciding to sacrifice himself by staying in Hell to prevent any more demons from leaving....

Visual Concepts Austin has become the latest studio to be affected by widespread layoffs across the games industry. A new Ecco the Dolphin game and two remasters are in development, according to the series’ creator. Ecco creator Ed Annunziata was interviewed on the officialXboxWire website, as part of an article celebrating Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Annunziata – who created and designed the first two Ecco the Dolphin games on Mega Drive / Genesis and produced its spin-off aimed at younger players, Ecco Jr – was asked what the future holds for the Ecco series....

A number of PlayStation 5 owners are encountering what appears to be a bug related to the console’s Blu-ray drive. As detailed onRedditandResetera, the issue results inPS5discs spinning at various intervals, often loudly. Some users say it happens on the hour every hour, while others claim to have experienced it every 15-20 minutes. Classic Sega arcade racing game Daytona USA 2 will receive its first ever home port, 25 years after it was released in arcades. That’s according to the latest issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu – read by VGC – which reports that the 1998 racer will appear in Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name as the renamed ‘SegaRacing Classic 2’, in order to avoid rights issues. Originally, Daytona USA 2 was planned to be released on Dreamcast, but the project was quietly cancelled and a special version of the original, Daytona USA 2001, took its place....

Information about an as-yet unannounced Aliens Fireteam Elite 2 has seemingly appeared online. A document, which appears to contains information on the unannounced game, is circulating onsocial media. The game, code named ProjectMacondo, is scheduled to release in Q3 of 2025, according to the document. The game will serve as a sequel to Aliens Fireteam Elite, and feature new modes such as Annihilation, which will be the game’s spin on Horde Modes found in several other shooters....

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered was released in December 2024, and now it seems that more games from the classic series will be making the jump to modern consoles.
