A key executive at UK retailer Game says Nintendo is right to give its games higher prices, but notes its decision to make physical games more expensive than digital will prove difficult for his company. In an interview withThe Game Business, Game managing director Nick Arran said he felt the retailer’s pre-order allocation ofSwitch 2hardware will likely sell out “in minutes, not hours”, and that the price of the console is “really great”....

Video footage of Call of Duty: Warzone private matches has emerged, indicating the feature could be announced in the near future. Modern Warzonewas sent a video (below) of a glitch enabling players to set up a private match lobby before entering into a private game of Mini Royale. Xbox Cloud Gaming will be available on select LG smart TVs later this year, Microsoft has announced. The feature will enable Game Pass Ultimate members to play their games directly from theXboxapp on supported TVs viaXbox Cloud Gaming. In November, Xbox started letting Game Pass Ultimate membersplay select titles they own outside the Game Pass catalog via cloud streamingonPC, phone, tablet, handheld, and most devices with access to a web browser....

Xbox series consoles can once again run emulators in retail mode. Previously, users were able to download applications directly from theMicrosoftstore which would allow them to use emulated material on any retailXboxSeries console. Earlier this year, Microsoft reportedly disabled the loophole that would let these applications run on the retail mode of the system. Users could still run the applications in developer mode. But now a group named UWeaPons Store has found another way to get these applications running on the retail unit....

Microsoft has officially delayed Fable’s release to 2026. XboxGame Studios head Craig Duncan announced the news on the latest official Xbox podcast. “So, I just want to start with, really excited, really excited about progress, really excited about where Playground are,” he said. “We previously announced the date for Fable as 2025, we are actually going to give Fable more time and it’s going to ship in 2026 now....

Nvidia’s GeForce Now streaming service is now available through Microsoft Edge, enabling Xbox owners to play PC games on their consoles, although Death Stranding is a notable exception. As of today, GeForce Nowincludes beta support for the Microsoft Edge browser, meaningXboxplayers can streamPC gamesto their consoles. Kirby and Smash Bros creator Masahiro Sakurai recently helped a cosplayer who was struggling to use Link’s sword properly. As reported byAutomaton, Japanese cosplayer Sakigake posted a video of himself dressed as Link inBreath of the Wild. In the video, Sakigake attempts to unsheathe his sword, but because of the length of the sword and the position of the scabbard on his back, he can’t stretch his arm out far enough to take the sword out....

Alien Ant Farm has said that being removed from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is “a bummer”. The band, whose song Wish was included in the soundtrack for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3, won’t be included in the upcoming remake collection alongside Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4. Now, speaking to theBBC, the band has expressed their disappointment in the omission. Alien Ant Farm said they were “grateful” to have been included on a previous Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater soundtrack....

This year’s BitSummit is now underway, with the first day recently ending in Japan. BitSummit is Japan’s leading independent games expo, featuring a whole host of new and upcoming indie games from all over the world. This year’s event, BitSummit Drift, takes place at its usual venue of the Miyako Messe in Kyoto, and I’m here covering it for all three days.
