The Summer Game Fest live showcase will be “largely focused” on previously announced games scheduled for release this year. That’s according to event producer and hostGeoff Keighley, who discussed plans for Friday’s event during a recent Q&A stream onTwitch. The show will begin on June 7 at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm GMT and run for about two hours, he said. “One of the things you’ll see with the show this week is we really tried to programme some unexpected things, from smaller teams and independent studios, into the show as well, alongside some big blockbuster games and franchises that you will see in the show as well,” Keighley said....

Nintendo Switch 2 can now be pre-ordered from theMy Nintendo Store UKwithout an invite. Ubisoft has brought forward the Assassin’s Creed Mirage release date by one week. Sony’s first PlayStation 5 hardware revision has quietly gone on sale. Xbox Series X/S consoles have received a new dynamic background. Designed to celebrate the imminent release ofIndiana Jones and the Great Circle, the background shows Indy standing at the entrance to a cave. The ‘dynamic’ element of this background is a subtle one, showing raindrops slowly dripping off the cave entrance. To access the background, players have to go to Settings, then General, then Personalisation. From there, choose My Background, then Dynamic Backgrounds, then the Games tab....
