Sony has launched the PlayStation 5 section of its official UK website.
While the company is gearing up to announce fresh details about the console ahead of its launch later this year, it says it’s not quite ready for a full reveal just yet.
A message on the websitereads: “We’ve begun to share some of the incredible features you can expect fromPlayStation 5, but we’re not quite ready to fully unveil the next generation ofPlayStation.
The website reiterates that PlayStation 5 is set tolaunch during the 2020 holiday season.
Earlier on Tuesday,Sony’s chief financial officer Hiroki Totoki suggested the company hasyet to determine the PlayStation 5 price, as it attempts to balance its position based on several known and unknown factors.
Chief among the latter will likely beMicrosoft’sXbox Series Xpricing plans, with the rival next-gen console alsoscheduled to launch at the end of 2020.
Sony said on Tuesday thatPS4 has just had its lowest Christmas sales periodsince the console’s release in 2013 as adoption slows ahead of the arrival of the next generation.
During Sony’s second quarter earnings call in October 2019, Totoki saiddevelopment of third-party PS5 games is “progressing smoothly”.
