Market research company the NPD Group has revealed 2022’s best-selling games in the United States.
Activision’sCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2came in at No.1 on the annual software sales chart after topping monthly sales in October, November and December.
It took the top spot ahead ofBandai Namco’sElden Ring, which NPD oncetipped as its bet for the year’s best-selling gamefollowing its blockbuster launch in February.
Madden NFL 23 charted at No.3, followed byGod of WarRagnarök andLego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
Pokemongames Arceus, Scarlet and Violet also made the chart, as didFIFA 23,Horizon Forbidden Westand MLB The Show 22.
NPD’s data includes physical and digital sales in most cases. Digital sales data isn’t included forNintendogames, or the for theXboxandSwitchversions of MLB The Show 22.
