Actor Norman Reedus has appeared to confirm that discussions have begun for a sequel to Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding.

Speaking to Brazilian reporterVitória PratinifromAdoroCinema(viaIGN Brasil), the actor reportedly said: “I think we’re doing a secondDeath Stranding. [The game] is in negotiations right now. So… Yay!”

This marks the second time Reedus has appeared to hint that Death Stranding 2 is in the works. Last year the actorclaimed he was “in talks”to work on another project with directorHideo Kojima.

“We did Death Stranding, which was a huge hit, and we’re in talks to do other stuff,” he toldWired. Later in the video Reedus added that he was “talking to Hideo about maybe doing some Death Stranding stuff”, although it’s not clear if he was referring to the upcoming Directors Cut version.

The original Death Stranding was released forPS4in November 2019 and forPCin July 2020.Kojima Productions’ debut title hassold through five million copiesglobally, its developer claimed in July.

The game was published bySony Interactive Entertainmentand co-developed by itsGuerrillastudio. Recently,PlayStationStudios bossHermen Hulstspecifically mentioned Kojima Productionswhen discussing its partner studios.

However, it was also recently claimed thatMicrosofthas beenin talks to sign the next game from the Japanese designerbest known for the Metal Gear Solid series.

Following Death Stranding’s release in November 2019,Kojima expressed a desire to work with Norman Reedus again, perhaps in a sequel to the PS4 open-world game, but said that if he did create a follow-up he “would start from zero.”

Reedus was also previously in line to star in Kojima’sSilent Hills. Announced in 2014, the horror game was to be directed by Kojima and Guillermo del Toro. The project was cancelled by publisherKonamifollowing the release of a playable teaser called P.T.
