Nintendo is to hold a Nintendo Direct broadcast on Thursday, September 23.
Kicking off at 3pm PT (6pm ET, 11pm BST), the presentation will last 40 minutes and will be “focused mainly onNintendo Switchgames launching this winter.”

The new Direct will likely include a new controller, after aUS government listing suggested one would be revealed this week.
Earlier this month,Nintendo’s request for a confidentiality agreement was submitted and listed on the FCC website, for an item simply described as “game controller”.

The initial documents listed on the website had suggested that all photos of the unrevealed controller, its manual, its block diagram and its schematics would be kept secret for up to six months.
However, on Tuesday new filings appeared on the FCC website stating that “short-term confidential” information related to the peripheral, such as images and diagrams, will be made available this Friday, September 24.

The last full Nintendo Direct presentationtook place during E3 2021in June and revealed a number of new games.
Most notable of these wasMetroid Dread, the first mainline 2D entry in 19 years, which will end a story arc that began in the 80s.
