New footage has been revealed of the abandoned Star Wars: 1313 project.

The gameplay,released by Battlefront III research site The Vault, shows Boba Fett as the protagonist as he makes his way through a series of unfinished locations.

Star Wars: 1313 was originally announced by LucasArts at E3 2012 via an impressive trailer.

However, the game was essentially cancelled when Disney bought LucasArts the following year and decided to put a hold on all existing projects.

Star Wars: 1313 was supposed to open with the player controlling a new bounty hunter character. That character would then be killed by Boba Fett.

The player would then continue to play as Fett for the rest of the game, which would mainly take place in Level 1313 on the city world of Coruscant.

Production of the game was essentially terminated when Disney acquired the Star Wars franchise and closed down LucasArts in 2013.

Although Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said in 2015 that the project could still be developed, it has never been mentioned again in the nine years since it was abandoned.

EAconfirmed earlier this week thatApex LegendsdeveloperRespawn is working on three new Star Wars projects: a sequel toStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and two other projects in development at new teams within theRespawnhierarchy.

The second title is a Star Wars FPS being helmed by former LucasArts veteran and Medal of Honor co-creator Peter Hirschmann, who has previously worked on the original Battlefront games, The Force Unleashed and more.

Respawn’s third Star Wars project is a strategy game developed through a production collaboration with Bit Reactor, which is a new studio formed by veterans of XCOM and Civilization studioFiraxis Games.

Lucasfilm confirmed last January that a Star Wars exclusivity deal with EA was set to end bypartnering with Ubisoft on a new open-world game, although EA responded by stating that its long-standing collaboration with Lucasfilm Games would “continue for years to come”.
