In a first for Netflix Games, upcoming mobile title Squid Game: Unleashed will be free for everyone at launch.

The announcement was made duringThe Game Awardson Thursday, ahead of the title’s release on December 17.

Developed by internal studio Boss Fight Entertainment, Squid Game: Unleashed is a “party royale” game.

“Like the hit dystopian thriller series it’s named after, Squid Game: Unleashed takes classic children’s games and puts a dark spin on them,” according toNetflix.

“Team up with friends or compete against up to 32 players for the ultimate prize: survival. You’ll earn money along the way to customize your avatar and advance through tougher and tougher challenges as you make your way up the tournament ranks.”

Netflix’s most popular show ever will return when Squid Game Season 2 premieres on December 26.

A Squid Game crossover withCall of Duty Black Ops 6andWarzonewill launch in January too.

Steel Paws,a new mobile game from Yu Suzuki, was also announced at The Game Awards.

The action adventure title from the Shenmue creator will be released in 2025 exclusively on Netflix Games.
