Monster Hunter World: Iceborne has shipped over 2.5 million units worldwide, according to publisher Capcom.
The expansion reached the milestone in about a week, having released forPS4andXbox Oneon September 6.

Capcomsays it represents a “solid start” and has helped the series surpass lifetime sales of 58 million units as of May 21, 2025.

The $40/£40 add-on, which is set for release onPCin January 2020, requires the baseMonster Hunter: Worldgame to play.
Monster Hunter: World, which released in January 2018, isCapcom’s best-selling game of all-time, having shipped 13.1 million units as of July 17, 2025.

Ryozo Tsujimoto, head of Capcom’s consumer games development division 2 and producer of the Monster Hunter series since 2007,has told VGC the publisher is “not giving up” on the idea of creating new original game series, despite its recent focus on core franchises likeResident Eviland Monster Hunter.
