Monster Hunter World has shipped over 14 million copies, according to publisher Capcom.

The updated shipment milestone, which was announced on the game’s JapaneseTwitteraccount, is up from 13.1 million units previously confirmed as of June 19, 2025.

The company said the figure represented a “solid start” for the expansion and had helped the series surpass 58 million lifetime sales as of June 22, 2025.

We should find out whether the franchise has reached the 60 million sales mark when the publisher announces its latest set of financial results on October 29, or around then when it’s also expected to update itslistof game series sales.

In terms of the popularity of its franchises, Monster Hunter is ahead ofStreet Fighter(43 million sales) and second only toResident Evil(92 million sales).

Ryozo Tsujimoto, head of Capcom’s consumer games development division 2 and producer of the Monster Hunter series since 2007,has told VGC the publisher is “not giving up” on the idea of creating new original game series, despite its recent focus on core franchises like Resident Evil and Monster Hunter.
