Activision has announced plans to bring back a selection of multiplayer maps from last year’s Modern Warfare 2 for the upcoming sequel.
At release next week,Modern Warfare 3will feature updated versions ofall 16 launch maps from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2.
It was confirmed in August that throughout its live seasons, Modern Warfare 3 will introduce over 12 all-new core 6v6 maps. The first three will arrive with the launch of Season 1 in December.
In addition to these,Activisionhas now revealed plans to add a selection of maps from 2022’sModern Warfare2 post-release.
Itsaidthese will “gradually become available to play” throughout the live seasons. The first four, which will include Farm 18, Mercado and Shoot House, will become available “shortly after launch” in a dedicated playlist.
These maps, which will be graphically identical to how they appeared in Modern Warfare 2, won’t support new Modern Warfare 3 modes like Cutthroat.
Set for release on August 02, 2025, Modern Warfare 3 is a direct sequel to last year’s Modern Warfare 2. Development is being led bySledgehammer, in collaboration withInfinity Ward, whileTreyarchis in charge of its Zombies mode.

Customers who have digitally pre-ordered or pre-purchased Modern Warfare 3 canstart playing the game’s campaign on November 2.
