Microsoft has raised the prices of its Xbox Series X and Series S consoles in Sweden.
TheXboxSeries X price has increased from 5,695 SEK ($550) to6,195 SEK($599), over two years after the console launched in November 2020.
As spotted byGaming Deputy, the Xbox Series S price has also risen from 3,595 SEK ($347) to 3,894 SEK ($376).
VGC has contactedMicrosoftfor comment on its decision to increase console prices in Sweden.

A Microsoft spokesperson told VGC: “Local pricing may differ across countries and platforms. These differences reflect regional considerations, including FX rates and market conditions.”
In January, Microsoft alsoraised the prices of Xbox Series X/S consoles in Japan.
“We regularly evaluate the impact of local pricing to maintain reasonable consistency across regions,” it said in at the time.
“This price revision affects our customers and was a difficult decision to make, but going forward we will continue to provide the ultimate Xbox experience that our customers expect.”
Citing the challenging global economic environment, last AugustSony raised PS5 pricesin Europe, Japan, and parts of North America.
FollowingSony‘s announcement, the UK arms ofboth Microsoftand Nintendotold VGC that they weren’t planning to raise console prices at that time.
But in November, Microsoft‘s head of gaming suggested that the price ofXbox consoles, games and/or subscriptions could increase in the future.

He added: “We’ve held price on our console, we’ve held price on games […] and our subscription. I don’t think we’ll be able to do that forever. I do think at some point we’ll have to raise some prices on certain things.”
And the following month, Microsoft confirmed plans to raise the price of major first-partyXbox Series X/Sgames by $10. Starting this year, the likes of Forza Motorsport,RedfallandStarfieldwill cost $69.99 in the US.
