Microsoft has confirmed that it’s no longer developing games that will run natively on Xbox One.
“We’ve moved on to Gen 9,”XboxGame Studios headMatt BootytoldAxios, referring toXbox Series X/S.

That doesn’t meanMicrosoftis leaving the last generation behind, however.
While there won’t be nativeXbox Oneversions of Series X/S games likeForza Motorsport, Xbox One players will be able to stream current-gen first-party titlessuch as Turn 10’s racerthoughXbox Cloud Gamingincluded with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
“That’s how we’re going to maintain support,” Booty said.
Booty has been doing a round of interviews over the past week coinciding with Sunday’sXbox Games Showcase.
He also told Axios that that both game players and the industry in general need to realise that mostbig games now have development cycles of around half a decade.

But having aggressively grown its portfolio of first-party studios in recent years,Booty believes Xbox has “turned the corner”in its efforts to deliver at least four first-party games every year.
He has also claimed that upcoming RPGStarfield will have the fewest bugs of any Bethesda game.
