Marvel Rivals has reached 20 million players, according to NetEase.

The milestone player count was announced on X on Tuesday, 11 days after the game’s December 6 release forPS5,Xbox Series X/SandPC.

NetEasepreviously claimed thatMarvel Rivals hit 10 million playersin its first three days of availability.

Marvel Rivalsis a free-to-play 6v6 team-based shooter played from a third-person perspective.

Players can choose from a selection of Marvel heroes and villains from theAvengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men and more.

The game is being developed by a new internal team at NetEase, which has said it’s “composed of global talent who previously worked on hit franchises such as Call of Duty and Battlefield”.

NetEase has also announced plans to launch a Winter Celebration update for the game on December 19 at 11pm PST.

A trailer for the holiday-themed event, which will add new costumes, a Splatoon-like game mode and “a few surprises”, is viewable at the top of this page.
