The cult favourite action game Lollipop Chainsaw is “back”, according to one of its former publishers.
Yoshimi Yasuda was previously the CEO of Kadokawa Games, which publishedGrasshopper Manufacturetitles Lollipop Chainsaw and Killer is Dead in Japan. He was also executive producer on both titles.

Last month it was announced that Yasuda would be leaving Kadokawa and would be establishing a new company calledDragami Games, and it appears that Lollipop Chainsaw will be one of the new company’s first titles.
“Lollipop Chainsaw is back by Dragami Games,” Yasuda tweeter on Tuesdsay. “Please look forward to it.”

It’s not clear whether Yasuda’s tweet refers to an upcoming remaster, remake or sequel, but either way it would mark the first time in two generations that players would be able to enjoy the game.
Lollipop Chainsaw was released in 2012 onXbox 360andPS3, and has never seen a subsequent re-release. The game is not backwards compatible onXbox, and isn’t listed among the streamable PS3 games on the new PS Plus.

As such, there’s no way to play it on either current or last-gen consoles, and there was never aPCrelease.
No mention of Lollipop Chainsaw’s apparent revival has yet been made by its directorSuda51or its co-writer James Gunn, though the two did celebrate the game’s 10th anniversary on Twitter earlier this week.

Lollipop Chainsaw has a cult following due to its over-the-top storyline and sexualised action.

The game follows Juliet Starling (voiced by Tara Strong), a cheerleader who has to save her school from a zombie invasion.
Juliet is accompanied by her boyfriend Nick, who’s been reduced to a talking disembodied head who’s attached to her belt.

The game received generally positive reviews at launch, which critics forgiving its occasionally repetitive gameplay because of its sense of humour and unique style.
