Larian Studios has teased plans to announce an Xbox Series X/S release date for Baldur’s Gate 3 and a physical edition of the game.
Earlier on Monday, the game was nominated for eight prizes at December’sThe Game Awards–the joint most alongside Alan Wake 2.

Baldur’s Gate 3was released forPCin August and forPS5andMacthe following month. Currently, it’s only available digitally.

The game’s Xbox release was originally planned for earlier this year but was held up as Larianstruggled to get split-screen co-op workingto the same standard on both Series X and S.
Following a meeting withMicrosoft’s head of gaming in August, Larian CEO Swen Vincke announced that the Xbox version of Baldur’s Gate 3 would arrive later this year aftersplit-screen co-op was removed as a feature on Series S.

Larian hadpreviously said on several occasionsthat it believed Microsoft required full feature parity the between the Series X and Series S versions of the game.

However, Xbox boss Spencer later suggested that feature parity wasn’t actually a requirement, and that he“doesn’t see a world” where ther Series S has to miss outon certain games.
