Sega’s Judgment could be set for a live-action television spin-off.
That’s according to a report by Japanese publicationNikkan Gendai– spotted byKotaku– which claims that actor Takuya Kimura plans to adapt the action-RPG series into a show for Asahi Television called “The Unjudged”.
It’s also claimed that a live-action movie adaptation forJudgmentcould be in development alongside the TV project.

Kimura is a recognised television actor and celebrity in Japan and appeared as theSegagame’s protagonist in both of its video game instalments.
If true, the report is the first indication that Kimura intends to maintain his involvement with the Judgment franchise beyond last year’s game sequel.

Last summer it was reported in the Japanese press thatLost Judgment may be the final game in the Judgment seriesdue to ongoing issues with Sega and Kimura’s talent agency.
Japanese showbiz news siteNikkan Taishuclaimed last July that Kimura’s talent agency Johnny & Associates had been blocking PC versions of games in the Judgment series because they didn’t want Kimura to appear inPC games, likely due to image rights issues.

The report claimed that Sega had been trying to bring Judgment and Lost Judgment toSteam, but because the agency was blocking this from happening it could draw a line under the series after Lost Judgment.
In the latest report by Nikkan Gendai, it’s claimed that Kimura has pulled out of popular Japanese television seriesBG Personal Bodyguardafter its second season, because he does not like playing the same character three times and being compared to previous seasons.
