It Takes Two will be released for Nintendo Switch on June 26, 2025.
The announcement was made during aNintendo Directpresentation on Tuesday.
Developed byHazelightStudios and published byElectronic Arts, the game was originally released forPC,XboxandPlayStationconsoles in March 2021.
The co-op adventure tells the story of a husband and wife seemingly headed for divorce, who are forced to work together to escape a fantastical world after being transformed by magic into living dolls.
The Switch port is being developed by Turn Me Up Games, which also handled the Switch versions of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons andJourney to the Savage Planet.
The Switch version includes couch co-op with a second set of Joy-Cons, gamepad, or by linking two Switch consoles for local play. Players who own the game can also invite a friend who doesn’t have it to play for free usingFriend’s Pass.

It Takes Two has sold over three million copies and won several high-profile awards. The title took the top prize atThe Game Awards2021, where it scooped three awards including the coveted Game of the Year.
Varietyclaimed in April that It Takes Two, which was made available via Xbox Game Pass last November, had reached over 10 million players.

Hazelight announced in January that it had teamed up with dj2 Entertainment, the production company behind the Sonic the Hedgehog films,to adapt It Takes Two for film and TV.
Sonic movie writers Pat Casey andJosh Millerwill serve as executive producers on the movie, as will Hazelight’s Fares and its studio manager Oskar Wolontis.Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson could star in the film.
