Infinity Ward has confirmed several Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 changes it plans to make following the game’s recent beta tests.
APlayStationexclusiveModern Warfarebeta was held earlier this month, followed by a cross-play test which addedXboxandPCplayers.
Despiteadjusting footstep audio and enemy visibilitybetween the tests,Infinity Wardhas acknowledged that further changes still need to be made.
“While sentiment around footstep audio was more positive in Beta Weekend Two, we have seen your continued feedback on the volume of footsteps and will continue to balance enemy/friendly footstep audio ahead of launch,” itsaid.
“Enemy visibility is something that came up throughout both weekends of our Beta. While many of you remarked on the improvement in Weekend Two, we’ll look to tweak increased enemy visibility to allow for better visual tracking of opponents that is not solely the traditional nameplate.
“Disbanding lobbies are another topic we addressed during Beta. We feel this is an important feature and are actively looking for potential solutions for launch.”
Infinity Ward said it was “very happy with the results of the weapon tuning changes” made for weekend two of the beta but that further changes are coming.
Activisionhas also claimed that the Modern Warfare 2 beta, which was accessible to players who pre-ordered the game, was a record-breaking one for the series.
“Call of Duty players made the Modern Warfare II Open Beta the biggest Beta in Call of Duty history — the most players, most hours played, and most matches played acrossPlayStation 4and 5,Xbox Oneand Series X|S, and PC platforms,” itsaid.
Call of Duty Warzone Mobile, which launches next year, has also become the fastest Activision,Blizzardand King mobile game to top 15 million pre-registrations onGooglePlay, according to the publisher.
