Ubisoft’s mythological open-world adventure game Immortals Fenyx Rising is set to receive a Polynesian-themed spin-off, it’s been claimed.

On theGames Mess Decidespodcast, Giant Bomb journalist Jeff Grubb read out the following claims from a source he expressed confidence in.

“Ubisoft Quebec‘s sequel toImmortals Fenyx Risingis not a proper sequel. It’s more of a spin-off. The production name of the game is called Oxygen.

“It’s based on Hawaiian Polynesian culture this time around. It still has a God narrator. They try to still be visually stylised but it’s less of a copy ofBreath of the Wild.

“It’s in early pre-production, seen some concept art, it’s coming maybe 2025.”

Grubb said his source also knew aboutUbisoft‘s plan to end development of Ghost Recon: Frontline, which was announced shortly before the recording of his podcast.

During an earning call on Thursday, Ubisoft confirmed it had cancelledGhost Recon Frontline, Splinter Cell VR and two unannounced games.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandorawas also delayed. Previously set to be released in calendar 2022, it will now arrive during the company’s fiscal year beginning in April 2023.
