The Wisdom Rod can only be obtained viarod crafting. Diving down that particular rabbit hole means jumping through the hoops of unlocking theAncient Archive.
Once the doors to the chamber have been flung open, you’re ready to craft the Wisdom Rod–so long as you’re level 40 and have the required crafting materials.
Is the Wisdom Rod good?
The Wisdom Rod boosts XP gained from a fish by 70-100%.It’s like having the Double XP gamepass applied for free–but only on this specific rod.
Whether paired with a fast enchant or another XP-boosting buff, the Wisdom Rod is a terrific way to grind levels for higher-tier crafted rods.
Take it to the Captain’s Goldfish pond on Forsaken Shores and you’ll see your level increase at a crazy pace.
With every possible XP buff going, a single Captain’s Goldfish can net upward of 65,000 XP. For the average player, expect something closer to 10,000 XP per catch, or more during an XP weekend. Either way, it’s very high for a reliable catch.

Magic Thread can be reeled in anywhereand completely by accident. If you’re level 40, you likely already have about 30 of them in your inventory. That’s not the challenge.

The Ruby, on the other hand, can only be obtained viaAncient Isle meteors. Now, unless you’re loaded and already have theRod of the DepthsorHeaven’s Rod, it isn’t worth burning your cash reserves onMeteor Totemsto grind a Ruby. It’s too risky.
Instead, just play as usual and keep an eye out for meteor messages. We’ve only looted 4 meteors and have 2 meteors to our name. We’re either very lucky or they’re just not that rare.
How to get Mythical Driftwood in Fisch
And we have similar advice for the Mythical Driftwood.Driftwood can be easily obtained anywhere by using Garbage bait. Paired with a Mythical Rod and its 30% Mythical mutation chance, nabbing this material won’t take long at all.
If you skipped theMythical Rodin favour of something like theCrystalized Rod, it can theoretically cost less to obtain both viaAppraisals.
You’d just have to manage both within around 200 450C$ rolls to break even against the rod’s 110,000C$ price tag. And that’s not factoring in time spent appraising.
