The Shiny Charm returns from previous games in the series as the most effective way to catch Shiny Pokemon, by dramatically increasing the odds that you’re going to encounter one in the wild.
Shiny Charmrequires some work to get, and even when you do locate theShiny CharminPokemonScarlet and Violet, it doesn’t guarantee a shiny, although it does make the process a bit less painful than usual.

How to get the Shiny Charm in Scarlet and Violet
The first thing you’re going to need to do to get the Shiny Charm is tocomplete the Pokedex. In order to do this, you will need to trade some Pokemon from the opposite version into your game.
The box legendary Pokemon and all of theParadoxPokemon need to be traded into your game to get the Shiny Charm. Most of the other exclusives can be found in Tera Raid battles online. However, Paradox Pokemon and Legendaries don’t appear in these raids at the time of writing.
Once you’ve completed your Pokedex, you’ll get a call asking you to go to the Biology classroom, where you’ll be given the Shiny Charm, and plenty of other rewards if you’ve never checked in with the professor before.
Shiny Charm Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Shiny Charm Odds
At the start of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet,the odds of finding a Shiny Pokemon are 1/4096.
With the Shiny Charm, those odds arecut in halfto 1/2044. This can be further reduced by making Shiny Sandwiches, or by looking for mass outbreaks.

The following Pokemon CAN’T be Shiny, and are not affected by theShiny Charm.
