The PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn sold 716,000 copies digitally during its release month, representing a strong start for PlayStation’s platform debut.
That’s according to Nielsen’sSuperData, which said in its latest digital global market report that the game had aPClaunch “nearly as large” asThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Horizon Zero DawnComplete Edition for PC wasreleased on July 20, 2025, while The Witcher 3 released on June 04, 2025.
The research firm said the game’s launch month sales were up 50% compared to the PC edition ofDeath Stranding, which sold 477,000 havingreleased on July 14.
It also labelled Horizon Zero Dawn’s PC launch month sales “significantly” larger thanAssassin’s Creed Odyssey’s following that game’s July 23, 2025 release.

Mark Healey, a co-founder of Sony owned studioMedia Molecule, told VGC in February thata PC version of Dreamswasn’t currently in development, but that it would be “great” to release one in the future.
The following month, Sony’s head of worldwide studios Herman Hulst suggested that PC ports ofPlayStationexclusiveswould remain an exception.
“And to maybe put a few minds at ease, releasing one first-party AAA title to PC doesn’t necessarily mean that every game now will come to PC,” he said.
“In my mind, Horizon Zero Dawn was just a great fit in this particular instance. We don’t have plans for day and date [PC releases], and we remain 100% committed to dedicated hardware.”
DeveloperGuerrilla GamesannouncedHorizon 2: Forbidden West for PS5in June ahead ofa planned 2021 release date. And this monthSony confirmed it will also release the game for PS4.
Prior to the sequel’s announcement, VGC revealed that PlayStation and Guerrilla are planning aHorizon Zero Dawn trilogy.
