Horizon Zero Dawn has been delisted on the Epic Games Store ahead of the release of Horizon Zero Dawn: Remastered.
ThePCversion of the game, which was released onEpic Games Storein 2020 is currently unavailable for purchase. When visiting thestore pagefor the original version of the game, players are now directed to a link to the purchase page forHorizon Zero Dawn: Remastered.

The remaster, whichVGC reported on in 2022, will come to both PC andPlayStation 5on October 31st.
The game will be available for $49.99 on PS5,Steam, and theEpicGame Store, while owners of the original game can upgrade to the remaster for $9.99.

It is possible that the listing has been removed so that players don’t buy the original PC version for $49.99 and then have to spend a further $9.99 on the upgrade, thus taking the total price above the $49.99 that Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will retail for.
Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition on the Epic Games Store was previously listed for $49.99, the same price as Horizon Zero Dawn: Remastered. It’s worth noting that the game was often deeply discounted according toEpicGamesDBwith the game falling to $12.49 multiple times this year.

A PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn was released in 2020 with improved draw distance and higher framerates, but it mostly reused the assets and features from thePS4version.
“Each year, many millions more pick up Horizon Zero Dawn for the first time,”Guerrillastudio director and art & animation director Jan-Bart van Been wrote on thePlayStation Blog. “But seven years is a long time in the world of computer graphics – technology improves.

“As time moved on, we really wished that new players who join Aloy on her origin story can do it with a version that is worthy of their PS5 or compatible PC. And so, we are thrilled to announce that the game has been remastered by our talented friends atNixxes.”
