Warner Bros Games has released a story trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

The new trailer, which premiered during the DC Fandome event, and appears to show in-engine cutscene footage and shows the Squad preparing to team up to take on DC’s iconic superhero team, who appear to be infected with some sort of virus that turns them evil.

Developed by Batman: Arkham series creatorRocksteady Studios, the game is billed as a “genre-bending action-adventure shooter” set in an open-world Metropolis.

Playable solo or with up to four players in online co-op, its original story follows Suicide Squad members Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark, who are on a mission to save Earth and kill the world’s greatest DC Super Heroes, The Justice League.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League andGotham Knightswere announced at August 2020’s DC Fandome event, with neither project having been shown publicly since.

Developed by WB Games Montreal, the studio behind 2013’s Batman Arkham Origins, Gotham Knights was originally due to release this year but was officially delayed into 2022 in March.

The game sees players controlling one of four superhero characters—Nightwing, Robin, Red Hood, and Batgirl—following the death of Bruce Wayne.
