Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition remasters will launch digitally on June 25, 2025.
The release date was revealed via developer Rockstar’s online marketplace, where the game is now available topre-orderfor $59.99 / £54.99, ahead of an official announcement expected imminently.

The game is also set for a physical release on selected platforms in December, according to the store listings, although the specifics are a little unclear as the website may still be in the process of being updated.

UPDATE:Rockstar has officiallyannouncedrelease plans for the collection, which has been adapted to modern platforms byGrove Street Gamesusing Unreal Engine.

It will be available digitally on November 11 through thePlayStationStore, theMicrosoftStore,NintendoeShop and theRockstar GamesLauncher, with a physical release forXbox Series X/S,Xbox One, Switch andPS4on December 7.
“Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition introduces wide-ranging modern control upgrades, including improvements to targeting and lock-on aiming, updated Weapon and Radio Station Wheels, updated Mini-Maps with enhanced navigation allowing players to set waypoints to destinations, updated Achievements, Trophies, and more,” according to Rockstar.

“TheNintendo Switchversion also features Switch-specific controls including Gyro aiming, as well as touch screen camera zooming, pans, and menu selections, while thePCversion includes support forNVIDIADLSS and additional new Accomplishments via the Rockstar Games Social Club.
“Additional enhancements across all three titles include a completely rebuilt lighting system; improved shadows, weather, and reflections; upgraded character and vehicle models; along with new higher resolution textures across buildings, weapons, roads, interiors, and more. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition also features a range of environmental upgrades including all new foliage, smoother surfaces, and increased draw distances to provide a new level of depth and clarity throughout the world.”

Additionally, the remastered version of GTA: San Andreas will joinXboxGame Pass on November 11, and the remastered version of GTA III will be made available on PlayStation Now from December 7.
ORIGINAL STORY CONTINUES:Officially, Rockstar has said only that the collection will bereleased later this year for consoles and PC, followed by mobile in 2022.

With Grand Theft Auto III having originally been released 20 years ago today, the chances of an official trilogy collection release date announcement coming later on Friday appear likely.
According to the product listings, the three titles included in the collection have been “adapted” by Grove Street Games, which previously partnered with Rockstar for other GTA ports too.

Customers who purchase the game through Rockstar’s online store or the Rockstar Games Launcher by June 23, 2025, will receive a $10 discount on their next purchase through the same marketplaces.
The game’s minimum and recommended system specs have also been confirmed.

Rockstar recentlydelayed the next-gen versions of GTA Vfrom their previously planned November release date to early 2022.
Grand Theft Auto 6 could still be four years awayfrom release and feature an expanding map set in Vice City, it was claimed in July.
