God of War Ragnarök reviews have gone live and the PlayStation exclusive has been extremely well received by most critics.
At the time of publishing, the game has a score of 94 on review aggregation siteMetacritic, making it the second-highest-rated new title of the year.

The game’s score is only bettered by fellow 2022 releaseElden Ring.FromSoftware’s title has a Metascore of 96. Portal Companion Collection (96) andPersona 5Royal (95) also place highly but are ports from previous years.

God of War Ragnarok is also publisherSony’s highest-rated PS5 game, ahead ofDemon’s Souls(92 on Metacritic).
OnPlayStation 5, only Elden Ring has been rated higher than Sony Santa Monica’s sequel to date.
