Microsoft has announced that the Gears 5 multiplayer tech will be open to all Xbox Live Gold members this weekend, while several other games will also be free to play.
TheGears 5tech test includes access to competitive game type Escalation, “new and approachable” multiplayer game type Arcade, plus King of the Hill.
It also includes a new training mode called Bootcamp (shown in the video below) and a short Tour of Duty – a series of challenges for players to earn content, in this case a tech test banner and three versus weapon skins.
Additionally,Microsoft saysXboxLive Gold members can playOverwatch, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, and Worms WMD for free until Sunday, July 28 at 11.59pm PDT (July 29, 7.59am UK).
Microsoftsaid in June thatGears 5 won’t feature a season passand all DLC maps will be released free of charge. It also provided the first details about the game’s Tour of Duty battle pass system, as well as monetisation plans.
