Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin is collaborating with From Software on an upcoming video game, VGC understands.

Martinannounced on his blogon Monday that he recently “consulted on a video game out of Japan”, with no further details provided.

AGematsureport first claimed the unannounced game is a collaboration with Tokyo-basedDark Soulsand Sekrio developerFrom Software, and VGC sources confirm this is indeed the case.

The unannounced title is said to be an open-world game featuring horse riding, withBandai Namco Entertainmentset to publish.

The collaboration sees George R. R. Martin working with another renowned fantasy creator,Hidetaka Miyazaki, whose Dark Souls series has earned critical acclaim and sold more than 10 million copies.

Miyazaki’s most recent title Sekrio: Shadows Die Twice was an instant hit, withsales surpassing two million in just 10 days, according to publisherActivision.

Meanwhile Game of Thrones, the TV adaptation of Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series of books, aired its final episode on Sunday, which brought in a series record of19.3 million viewers.
