Square Enix has released a new Forspoken gameplay trailer.
The ‘Worlds Collide’ trailer, which is viewable below, shows protagonist Frey using her magical and parkour abilities to tackle a variety of fierce creatures including a giant dragon.
“Forspokentells the story of a young New Yorker suddenly thrust into the magical, yet cruel land of Athia,” Luminous Productions creative director Raio Mitsuno wrote in an accompanying post on thePlayStation Blog.
“Frey tries to come to terms with her new reality as she explores and traverses around the magnificent open world of Athia where corrupted enemies seem to be lurking everywhere she goes.
“But with time, Frey is no longer a lost New Yorker. She becomes a confident hero who becomes stronger with the trials she faces and develops her magical abilities against a host of enemies.
“Frey uses her Burst Shot, fires off electricity with Storm Dart and even commands a barrier of water with her Eagre ability.”
On MondaySquare Enixdelayed the Forspoken release date by five months.
“We have made the decision to move the release date of Forspoken to June 18, 2025,” it said. “Our vision for this exciting new IP is to deliver a game world and hero that gamers across the globe will want to experience for years to come, so getting it right is extremely important to us.”

Announced in June 2020, Forspoken is the debut game from Square’s Luminous Productions studio. It will reportedlybe a PlayStation console exclusive for two years.
The lead character Frey isportrayed by English actress Ella Balinska, who is known for starring in 2019 film Charlie’s Angels.
