Free-to-play football game UFL has been delayed by three months, developer Strikerz Inc has announced.
It was announced last month that the game would be released on September 12, but Strikerz has now released a new statement saying this has changed.
The game will now be released on December 5, with players paying for a pre-order bundle receiving early access on Novmber 28.
The developer says more than 2 million players took part in the game’s open beta tests, and that their feedback led to the delay.
“It wasn’t an easy decision, but having analysed your feedback and a lot of game data, we’ve decided to reschedule the UFL release,” the statement reads.
“We’d like to explain why we made this decision and what it means for you. While we could release the game as scheduled, we believe taking a little more time will allow us to provide the best experience possible.
“The majority of issues are related to polishing and fine-tuning the features that contribute to the game’s overall feel. We understand that there’s no recipe for a perfect football game, but it’s essential for us to ensure the game meets our high standards — and your expectations.”

When it’s eventually released, Strikerz claims UFL will focus on a ‘fair to play’ ideology, in which players will be fairly matched with similarly skilled opponents.
While thePS5andXbox Series X/Sgame will be free-to-play, $15/£12 pre-order bundles include early access, exclusive customisation items, in-game currency and more.
It was announced in 2023 thatCristiano Ronaldo had invested $40 millioninto the game’s development.
