Epic has released Fortnite update 8.20, introducing the Floor is Lava limited time mode to Battle Royale, plus new weapons, items, gameplay fixes and more.

The Floor is Lava LTM sees players attempting to avoid the deadly liquid as it rises from the bottom of the map to the top. The aim is to drop into the map quickly in order to gather loot and materials before heading to and holding the higher ground.

The update also introduces poison dart traps, which can be placed on walls, floors and ceilings, while reworking the infantry rifle so that it no longer fires sniper projectiles, reducing the damage it inflicts.

There are three new foraged items too. Bananas grant five health when consumed, coconuts grant five health or shields if at max health, while peppers grant five health and increase player movement speed by 20% for 10 seconds.

Elsewhere, the recently introduced Baller vehicle no longer applies damage on collision.EpicsaysFortniteupdate 8.30 will further change how Ballers work by enabling players to shoot through glass sections of the vehicle to target drivers.
