Microsoft Flight Simulator’s UK and Ireland world update has been delayed, developer Asobo has confirmed.

Previously scheduled to launch on January 26,Asobois now “targeting the release one week later than originally planned”.

“This massive update contains new aerials, new DEM, over 70 POIs, 5 airports, two landing challenges, and will also introduce 5 brand-new photogrammetry cities for your enjoyment,” the studiosaid.

“Unfortunately, these new cities are causing a slight delay… it’s a new process and data source for us and the tools have to be updated for these cities to integrate seamlessly into the sim.”

It added: “We apologize about the delay, but are convinced that it will be worth the wait … and that a full 3D London is a critical element of this release. Thank you for your patience.”

The game’s first world update launched in September 2020.Focused on Japan, it featured an upgraded digital elevation map, high-resolution 3D photogrammetry for six Japanese cities, and six handcrafted local airports.

Its second world updatefocused on the United States. Released last November, it included four new handcrafted airports, improvements to 48 more airports, plus 50 new points of interest.
