The first review of Kirby and the Forgotten Land has been published inEdge magazine.
According to an excerpt published onResetera, the publication’s review reads: “Those who’ve never understood the appeal of Kirby in 3D are unlikely to be convinced by his move into 3D.”
It continues: “Otherwise, this compact, imaginative adventure is a low key triumph, a work of great craft and wit that, unlike its lead, doesn’t bite off more than it can chew and it only leaves you hungry for more.”
The game received a score of 8 out of 10. The full review will beavailable in issue 370 of the magazinearrives when it arrives on general sale later this week.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land sees Kirby exploring a mysterious world where Waddle Dees have been kidnapped by a gang of animals called the Beast Pack. It’s up to Kirby to use his copy abilities to rescue the Waddle Dees.
Rather than the typical 2D side-scrolling platforming, Kirby is known for, this new game will be a 3D platformer in which players will be able to freely move around in 3D arenas using familiar Kirby copy abilities.

In VGC’sKirby and the Forgotten Land hands-on preview, critic Matthew Castle suggested it may be the perfect game to play afterElden Ring, given that it appears to be its complete opposite.
“This is everything the Miyazaki masterpiece isn’t,” writer Matthew Castle said. “[It’s] welcoming, bright, frivolous and frothy – and the perfect unicorn chaser after another session of being ripped a new one by one of From’s fleshy monstrosities.”
