Nintendo has released the first images of The Outer Worlds running on Nintendo Switch.

The screenshots mark the first timeObsidian’s RPG, which released for other platforms in October 2019, has been seen on Switch.

TheNintendoversion will release on March 6 and is being ported by Virtuous, which also broughtDark Souls Remasteredand Starlink to the platform.

The game will cost $59.99 / €59.99 / £49.99 / AU$ 89.99 and will be available as a digital download only (although a boxed version containing a download code will also be released).

Obsidian’s RPG previously released forXbox One,PS4andPCand is also availablevia Xbox Game Passfor console and PC.

Inan interview published in September 2019, the game’s narrative designer Megan Starks saidThe Outer Worldsis looking “really exciting” onNintendo Switch.

“Matt [Singh, producer],who was in the announcement trailer, is a huge Nintendo fan: it was the highlight of his life to work on that deal.”

She added: “I think fans will enjoy it. I know people were really excited about some of the other large titles that came out for Switch, so I think people will really enjoy it. It’s going to be a great game for long commutes.”

Obsidian plans to releasestory DLC for The Outer Worlds in 2020.

AndMicrosoft, which acquired Obsidian in November 2018, has said it hopes tobuild The Outer Worlds into an “enduring franchise”.
