A new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade includes small print that suggests the game may not remain a PlayStation exclusive forever.
The game’s ‘final trailer’, published today, ends with a statement that the upcoming remaster will be a “PlayStation 5console exclusive”.
The statement has an asterisk, however, which is accompanied with small print that reads: “Available on PS5 at least six months earlier than any other format.”
Square Enixhas yet to announceFinal Fantasy VII Remakeor its next-gen Intergrade edition forXbox Series X/SorPC.
The new trailer shows the graphical improvements made for the PlayStation 5, and also shows some of the new content from FF7R Episode INTERmission, a new sub-story that stars ninja character Yuffie. It also gives a look at Fort Condor, a new tactical mini-game that’s part of INTERmission.
The trailer was showcased as part of a Final Fantasy VII live broadcast held in Japan. According toFamitsu, the broadcast also included a brief update on Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2.
DirectorTetsuya Nomurasaid development was going smoothly, and confirmed that the game would take place right after the events of Intergrade, and would have a “different atmosphere” to Part 1.
Priced at $69.99/£69.99 and set for release on June 10,Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergradeis a PS5 update of last year’s RPG featuring improved visuals, faster loading times, a Photo Mode and haptic feedback as well as the new Yuffie DLC story.
Final Fantasy 7 RemakePS4owners will be able to upgrade to the PS5 game for free and transfer saves from the last-gen version, though this offer isn’t available to owners ofMarch’s PS Plus version of the title.
And the free upgrade won’t include INTERmission, which will also be available for PS5 as a standalone $19.99 purchase from thePlayStationStore.
