Square Enix has confirmed the release date of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
The second part in its Final Fantasy remake series will be released on February 29, on two discs.

The announcement was accompanied by a lengthy trailer showing off new gameplay and cutscenes from the game.
UnlikeFinal Fantasy 7 Remake, which was released forPS4in 2020 before making its way toPS5andPCthe following year, Rebirth won’t be available forSony’s last-gen console.

The second entry in the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogywas announced in June 2022. At the time, producerYoshinori Kitasesaid Rebirth would be “released next winter”, meaning in late 2023 or early 2024.
In aFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth updatein June, Kitase said: “Development is progressing smoothly and according to plan, We are currently working on nailing down a release date for the game.”

Square Enixalso said players won’t need to have experienced Final Fantasy 7 Remake to enjoy Rebirth.
“We have made preparations so that players who did not get a chance to play the first game can fully enjoyFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth,” co-directorMotomu Toriyamasaid.
